Announcement

It is with great sadness that due to reasons of advancing age and ill health we have decided to bring our involvement with Scala House to an end.

As of today's date Scala House has new owners who I am sure that together with Chris and his team will continue to offer the service and tradition of "a Home away from Home".

Chris and in his absence Boba will be dealing with the daily correspondence

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to all our guests and friends that have stayed with us over the years.

We wholeheartedly wish the new owners of Scala House every success in the future.

Greetings from Scala House!

We wish to express our many thanks to all our guests who have been to Scala House. We are grateful to you all for all your recommendations. You are the Ambassadors of the success of Scala House.

Our thanks also to those who have booked with us and whom we are eagerly looking forward to welcome again to Scala House or to meet in person for the first time.

Welcome to Scala House!

We appreciate the importance of a Holiday and the complexities of making the right choice. We can assure you that we care about our guests.

We have not become one of London's most sought after self catering hotel apartments by chance or luck. We are out in front because we care. We offer a personal service, clean, spacious apartments in an excellent location at a value unrivalled by any of our competitors.

Advance Notice

We wish to bring to your attention the fact that refurbishment and general building works will commence as from April 4, 2007 at the building next door and to the west of Scala House.

For ease of reference it is the six storey office building on the right of the Scala House entrance. The works will continue for many months. We have been given assurances that they will do their utmost best to minimise the noise and nuisance to our building whilst the works are in progress.

We feel it is our duty to inform guests prior to accepting any bookings from 4th April 2007 onwards. .

We wish to assure all our guests that we will take every step possible to protect them from noise or other nuisance as result of these building works.

We have already instructed our Lawyers to take all necessary steps to protect our guests in their peaceful enjoyment of their stay at Scala House.

Some Tariff Price Increases
We found it absolutely necessary to marginally increase our Low Season rates for the first time in 7 years. The lighting and heating expenses have doubled in the last 5 years. The local authority taxes have been increasing annually. The increase does not in any way affect existing bookings to 2007.
Please note that all returning guests will receive a 10% Discount

Our prices are fully inclusive of everything, other than outgoing telephone calls. What we quote is what you pay with no hidden extras.

We will spare no effort in making sure that your stay at Scala House is a happy one.

Please note the following:

Prices quoted are per apartment per week not per person.

Airport collection prices are per vehicle not per person.

Invitation

It is impossible to satisfy every booking enquiry. I invite you to visit Scala House when you are next in London. It will be my pleasure to meet you and show you our apartments for future reference. I am confident that our cleanliness, sincerity and our professionalism will impress you.

Warning!! Central London Congestion Charge for cars

We wish to inform all our guests whether from UK or abroad that the Mayor of London has introduced a charge of £8 daily for any car entering Central London from Monday to Friday between the hours of 06:30 a.m. and 19:30 p.m. This applies to all vehicles whether owned or rented. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded. There is a fine of 80 pounds sterling if you do not purchase a license to use Central London roads.

For hired cars the Car rental companies charge the penalty fine to your credit card without reference to you plus an additional 25 pounds sterling which they describe as an administration charge.

Please be warned and take care if you decide to rent a car and collect it from Central London or if you drive in to London on weekdays

Modem Connections

As all our returning guests know we are always improving and upgrading our facilities. Every Apartment has its own safe deposit box, large enough to take a laptop and other valuables. There is no additional charge for this service but a deposit of 25 pounds is required and is fully refundable when the key is returned.

We are pleased to announce that we have upgraded our telephone system so that now every apartment has its own dedicated fax/modem connection in addition to a separate telephone line.  Now, All apartments also have the Broadband (ADSL) Connection available at a charge. See charges below.

For our guests who are here on business we have apartments with extra telephone lines for those important conference calls. If you need extra telephone lines, please make your request when making your reservation.

All apartments have the Broadband (ADSL) Connection.

We are pleased to announce that we have upgraded our internet connection facilities so that now every apartment has its own ADSL (Broadband Connection) in addition to the current dedicated fax/modem connection.

The cost for the Broadband connection is as follows:

From 1 day the cost will be £4.50 per 24 hours.

From 2 to 3 days the cost will be £4.00 per 24 hours.

From 4 to 7 days the cost will be £3.50 per 24 hours.

From 8 days plus, the cost will be £3.00 per 24 hours.

All apartments have the Broadband (ADSL) Connection.

So bring your notebook along.

Changes to Method of Payment

Please note that we do not charge a service charge for payments made by Visa or MasterCard. We have found that the most economical way of paying for the accommodation to get the best rates of exchange is by using either a Debit card, Visa, MasterCard or travellers cheques.

Please note that we do DO NOT accept American Express

All transactions will be in pounds sterling as we can not charge US Dollars or any other currency to your credit card because the charge is raised in the UK. We can only charge you in Pounds Sterling and your credit card company will do the conversion to the US Dollars, equivalent at the prevailing rate.
